Gen’s speech was dedicated to friendship. She started by saying ‘with a bride’s speech, everything’s kind of already been said. So I’d like to talk about something different and that’s friendship’. She talked about the most wonderful connections with her four bridesmaids, and it was heartwarming. I was reminded that at weddings, friendship is something that generally gets less focussed on, especially in wedding photography. But that’s what its all about! And especially my photographs, they’re all about the stories, connections and emotions shared between humans on very loved up days. So I’m dedicated this post, not just to Gen & Dan, but all their wonderful friendships they share with all these very wonderful guests.
Gen & Dan’s wedding was no short of spectacular. They’re pint lovers the pair of them, and with Dan from the toon, a piss up in a Newcastle brewery was perfect. Wylam Brewery is one of the coolest alternative wedding venues I’ve seen. And Gen & Dan brought all their individuality to the venue. Disco balls, shot glass cricket bats (alongside the last bottles of Cafe Patron in the UK), crosswords and the dance floor surprise Jet2 landing song by Jess Glynne for pilot Dan!
So here’s to them and all their most exuberant and colourful guests. I get brought into the most fun and heart on your sleeve weddings, and I’m super proud to have been a part of this one.
