ANALOGUE PHOTOGRAPHY

It’s in the colours, the tones, the grain. The anticipation. The magic...

THERE’S JUST SOMETHING ABOUT FILM THAT DIGITAL CAN’T TOUCH

Fun Colourful Modern Natural • Fun • Authentic •

In 2015 I bought my first Rolleiflex camera. I cut my teeth on medium format film photographing my way through Vietnam, motorbiking from bottom to top on a month long trip at the age of 19. I’ve not stopped shooting film since.

When we slow down, we see more. There’s something so much more considered, so much more intentional about the photographs.

The richness of tones, the colours and the patience required has kept me coming back to film, and I'm super excited to offer analogue wedding photography.

  • Your photographs taken on film will visually stand out from the rest of the digital collection. With film’s unique colours, the camera’s different framings and the sense of nostalgia, you’re adding a whole new spectrum of  colour & memory to your wedding day.

  • Film gives me the opportunity to creatively express more of you. It’s like giving an artist more paintbrushes, or a musician more instruments. Film gives me a new arena to play in, to create images with a more artistic feel.

  • There’s something tangibly beautiful about it. When you look at film, it’s the very light from that moment that’s exposed onto a physical piece of film. There's a physical connection to that moment you were a part of, and that’s a really special feeling.

  • Printing your film photos out. Scrolling through your phone for pictures just doesn’t cut it. Be like our parents and grandparents, enjoy the physical feeling of a real connection to the day.

Why choose analogue for your wedding?

Shooting on film has been a passion of mine since i discovered it whilst studying photography at uni

I use a Rolleiflex 2.8F medium format camera for wedding photography, I use this primarily for portraits. For the whole wedding day, I use a Canon EOS30 with a range of prime lenses for a soft depth of field that film just loves.

My film stock of choice for weddings is Kodak Portra, which is a rich, deeply coloured film stock. I love to shoot on Black and white film- Ilford HP5 packed with punchy contrast.  But you can make this decision too! I love to speak to couples beforehand and choose which film stock they might like most to have for their wedding.

My favourite lab , Take it Easy based in Leeds, develops and scans all the film at high resolution. I deliver these alongside the rest of the digital photographs.

You can add analogue photography to your package for £300. Click the link below to go to the pricing page to learn more

He took time to understand our vision, and our traditions

We could not be more happy with having Hamish as our photographer. From the moment we met him, we felt like he was someone we had known for years. He took the time to understand not only our vision, but some of the different traditions that come along with both a Jewish and American wedding. He captured the most beautiful moments, ones that most other photographers would have missed. His work is extraordinary, and the photographs perfectly depict the love and joy we felt that day.

He worked so hard to capture as many incredible moments and shots as possible

Having seen Hamish work and loving his warm, natural and emotive style we knew he was the only photographer for us. So much so, we considered no-one else and chose our wedding date around his availability. He worked so hard to capture as many incredible moments and shots as possible, and the results were perfect. All our friends & family comment they are the best pictures they've seen and how perfectly he captured the day, of course we agree! He felt like part of the family & was a joy to have there
