I’m 28 years old, and I’ve been snapping weddings for the last 13 of them!
I love beer. Beer loves me back. I brew it myself. Fancy a pint?
There’ll only ever be one excuse to put the camera down. And winning Julia & Sam’s, yes indeed, was my greatest career achievement (so far).
Saxophone side hustle
I’m officially the let down member in my band, never able to attend gigs because of weddings, but we play together every week in our own style of fusion acid jazz-funk.
Maaaybe… if someone hands me one. It’ll cost ya though. Careless Whisper costs a pint.
I have been terrifying my Mum annually for four years now travelling round the world. I’ve solo motorbiked 2000km through Vietnam (Mum was not okay), I’ve island hopped across the Philippines, eaten half of Malaysia, and most recently, had the most incredible trip to Colombia & Ecuador.
I photograph the world’s top squash players every year around the world, in a studio and playing matches. It’s an incredible job that’s taken me to Hong Kong, Chicago and Cairo to name a few.
Camping, drinking, music-ing is absolutely my favourite activity. One time we met Andy Serkis, and I did the full on Golem impression whilst having our photo taken. Yep, he LOVED it (I think). Now, Glastonbury awaits.
Qualifications don’t matter in this industry, your portfolio does. BUT, I paid a whopping £36,000 for my degree from Leeds Arts University, and that fact deserves a place in this list simply to give the degree some value.
Growing up, I was obsessed with cameras and photographs. Coming from a long line of journalists, I wanted to follow in their footsteps. But writing just didn’t quite feel right.
Then, my parents bought me my first camera when I was 13, and it all just clicked.
Just like how my Dad, Uncle and Grandpa do through their writing, I do it visually. It’s people I’m passionate about, and their stories I love to tell.
The adrenaline you get from photographing someone's biggest day is addictive, and so is receiving a couples’ reaction to receiving their wedding photos, it’s one of the best feelings in this job.
You know when you’re just made for something? I feel so lucky my job gives me all the tingles.
I love colour. My life is filled with it - the walls, my wardrobe, and so is my photography. Emotion should be celebrated in vibrance and warmth. I love photographing colour at weddings.
My travel photography fuels my imagination. I find ideas and compositions in different worlds, and bring them back to life at weddings.
