Left Bank Leeds Wedding Photography – Ryan & Rowena
Left Bank Leeds Wedding Photography Rowena & Ryan grew up on the same street in opposing houses. They didn’t really know each other as kids, but little did they know that one day they’d be married! Rowena’s Mum put a word in with Ryan many, many years later, which led to their first date. They shared their love of Back to the future, all things crafting and cats, and the next seven years flew by.
It was just under a mile away from where they met as kids that they got married. They had two wedding ceremonies, the first at Left Bank in Leeds and then at St Michaels Church in Headingley, which has played a major role in Ryan’s life, it was a really special service.
Seeing the R+R’s cats in the morning (Doc, Hagrid & Tutti) was a treat. Doc, the white 10 month old cat, named after Doc Brown of course, is my new best feline friend. Especially after meeting them for the pre wedding shoot last month, which we did at home in Headingley. We actually visited the street they met on for some snaps too, it’s a special place for them which is so lovely.
At the Left Bank ceremony, they wrote their own vows for each other; a tradition I’m loving more and more with every wedding. Beautifully, they’d both separately written the same Back to the future quote as each other. I was photographing at the alter standing next to the couple, and Rowena cutely whispered ‘you little fucker’ to Ryan when he finished his wonderfully emotional vow with Doc Brown’s quote from the film. It was brilliant when Rowena finished her vow off exactly the same way as his, you can see these two are meant for each other.
This wedding was full of amazing ideas. The Back to the Future Delorian wedding car was brilliant, especially with the wedding date programmed into the time dials. Ryan’s Mum surprised them with a team of wedding Star Wars stormtroopers and Darth Vader at the church. The Left Bank wedding ceremony and interior was decorated with Rowena’s handmade macrame hanging from the ceiling. The wedding name-cards were made of paper aeroplanes, the table names of countries they’ve visited were hand written postcards with a message to the guests from where they went. Yorkshire’s own Blues Catering cooked up a storm of barbecue meat for the wedding, and an ice cream truck to finish the meal off was ideal.
It was an incredible day. I started at 9.30am and didn’t finish til 11.30pm, and not once did I not have something wonderful to capture. Left Bank Leeds wedding venue is an alternative Yorkshire venue, and will always remain one of the best Leeds wedding venues for me. I love Left Bank so much, and being a Leeds wedding photographer, it feels like I’m playing at home every time I photograph there.
Thank you so much Rowena & Ryan, what an incredible start to the year of weddings x
