Coniston Hotel Wedding Photography

Here we go Michelle & Jonny! I’m very much in with these two’s wonderful friendship group, and it was brilliant to be back in with the gang capturing the madness and happiness (especially on that dance floor – look at them doing shoes!)

It was lovely to return to the Yorkshire Dales, this week at the Coniston Hotel. There were just enough gaps in the rain (how rainy has this summer been so far?!) to make the most of the landscape of rolling hills. We had a funny mini-excursion down to the Coniston Hotel lake where Michelle & Jonny hopped into a little row boat. The rain started just as they got in, and after quite a few champagnes down through the day, the photoshoot I must admit, was hilarious.We sent them out to sea, and had them back within 5 minutes and the screaming must’ve been heard from miles away, but they loved it.

Their Ilkley church wedding ceremony at the Ben Rhydding Methodist church was a lovely link to their roots having met each other in Ilkley and now living just a stones throw away. The church hosted its first ever wedding flower men as well, when two groomsmen pranced down both aisles spreading joy and love by throwing petals in everyones faces. Both hilarious to watch happen, and watch the groomsmen clean up afterwards.

If you don’t know what ‘the slug’ dance move is, then you may do by the end of this blog. It’s Jonny’s signature ‘dance move’, and one of the finest pieces of interpretive dance I’ve photographed. His legendary skills have gained him a reputation, with many guests chanting ‘slug slug slug’ through the day, and being gifted a ‘slug’ branded t-shirt from the best man, his late night slug performance didn’t disappoint.
