Andrew & Sarah’s Wedding at Hornington Manor, Leeds
Hornington Manor Wedding Photography. Last Saturday I joined Andrew and Sarah for their beautiful wedding in the sun at one of my all time favourite venues, Hornington Manor.
It was such a wonderful day to be Andrew and Sarah’s wedding photographer. I couldn’t have asked for a more in love, fun loving couple to capture in one of Yorkshire’s best wedding venues.
I arrived in the morning to find the boys had behaved themselves the night before, and were ready to open the beers, as the girls got glammed up with Lottie Haigh Hair and Elizabeth Amy MUA in a beautifully bright room at the back of the house.
The morning flew by, and before we knew it, Sarah was in her stunning dress, with an emotional Mum and Dad on hand. The guests departed on the vintage bus across to St Mary’s church in Boston Spa for the ceremony, as Andrew awaited. Sarah jumped in the most gorgeous vintage beetle with her Dad, and zipped off to the church as I raced behind them. A wonderful morning!
Pop up Gospel Choir welcomed the guests in with some seriously smooth sounding modern gospel. But the surprises didn’t stop there, as our couple were reunited with their excitable young pup, Buddy after the ceremony. It was a lovely moment as all the guests walked out to find the ball of energy, so excited to say hello! He was actually too excited, as when they walked through our confetti tunnel, Buddy bolted ahead of them, and was jumping up into the air eating the confetti!
Then back off to Hornington for drinks and canapés in the sun, with the ever-excellent Hog & Apple catering. I’m just about seeing them every week at the minute! The sun was out on the back garden, setting the perfect scene as the sun went down for mingling and catching up. Then into the barn for speeches, where Andrew & Sarah had done a wonderful job of pulling all their family and friends together to help with the interior of the barn, it looked amazing. Emotions ran high as Dad and Andrew gave heartfelt speeches, followed by a brilliant raucous reaction to the Best Men Richard and Chris burn a part of Andrew down in some of the best dry wit I’ve seen this year. Excellent work.
The evening guests arrived as the drinks really started to flow. Again, time just flew by and then all of a sudden it was first dance time. The dance floor was packed as The Wild Ones of Jonny Ross Music got the party going. I love that shower of lights that come down from the roof that make up the dance floor wall, the whole scene just looks ace. I actually managed to sneak some evening portraits in using the lights as a background before the band arrived!
The wedding partied hard into the night, as the dance moves got more weird and wonderful as more tequilas came out. What a day to photograph, I was absolutely knackered at the end! A day with no shortage of amazing moments and emotion to capture. Thanks Andrew & Sarah for having me for your Hornington Manor wedding photography. It was such a privilege to join the journey!
Hope you’re having the best time down in South Africa right now! Hamish x
