An intimate and inspirational wedding at the Great House in Sonning

Great House Sonning Wedding Photography. Dave & Andrea are such a wonderful couple. They’ve been together for so long, and the love they have for each other is heartwarming. For every guest, friend and family member at the wedding, we were all made to feel such a special part of their relationship. And their wedding day couldn’t have been a more brilliant reflection of how perfect these two are for each other. The photographs couldn’t show this any more, it was a pretty special wedding for me to capture.

A personal highlight for me was the groom’s speech. I can’t remember listening to a more honest, direct and wonderful speech in my career, that touched everyone in the room, and even myself. Dave is so grateful for what he has, and his articulation of how lucky he feels to have such incredible family, friends and partner struck a chord with me, and have stuck with me since the wedding. So much so that I had to call my own parents after his speech and tell them I loved them!

Aside from getting too emotional again, there were lots of fun wedding additions in the day. Paul Vale, a hilariously talented caricaturist managed to give all the wedding guests new faces and features. Robert Fox, a scarily good magician with a knack for somehow bending solid metal cutlery, and blowing peoples’ minds. A ridiculously sized cake of cheese, enough to probably fuel the Coppa Club next door for a week. Reading wedding florist, Sonning Flowers did a magnificent job with the flora and fauna. 

We were lucky to get just a 10 minute window of proper evening sunset golden hour. As the sun set down into the horizon, the light softened and created a beautiful warm glow. I ran and got Dave & Andrea out together for one last snap before the first dance, and the orange glow of the evening sun set quite the perfect scene for me. Great timing.

I got myself involved, and enjoyed a pint with Dave as the Abba songs rolled on. The night fell, and I took my leave back to my cosy AirBnb just down the road (thanks Nikki!), too happy with all these lovely shots. So excited to share the rest with you!

So thanks once again Dave & Andrea for bringing me down south for your wonderful wedding. It was such a privilege to have been part of your day x
