Woodman Inn Wedding Photography. A couple of days ago, I was at The Woodman Inn, Thunderbridge outside Huddersfield for Cara and Chris’ Woodman Inn wedding.

It was my last wedding of the year, so I was out to catch the biggest and best shots I could to round off 2018 with a bang! It’s been an incredible first year of business, so keep your eyes peeled as I’ll be uploading a ‘Best of 2018’ round up in the New Year.

Chris and Cara’s wedding was a day of nervously-exciting moments, impressive public speaking skills and huge surprises! I must admit we all missed their brilliant bulldog, Barkley. Who unfortunately was unable to attend as he was at the kennels. After meeting the fella at their pre-wedding shoot (scroll right down to the bottom to see some pics!), I captured and saw how much love they’ve got for him. He’s a good boy!

I joined the team in the morning to discover there was all but only a wall separating the girls from the boys (good for me so I can just swop in and out!) I loved the contrasting scenes between the two rooms. On one side, the best men were quietly reading through their speeches; it was like a library. And on the other side, it was full on Christmas Day. Flower girl Megan performed the xmas top ten hits on full volume at full enthusiasm. It was a brilliant start to the wedding!

Great to then bump into one of my favourite florists, Stems Design who had done an unbelievable job dressing up the ceremony and breakfast room. Scroll down to check out the floral talent these Huddersfield based team of exceptional florists have.

Both Chris and Cara were really nervously excited, which I feel is such a distinctive emotion to photograph. It’s that deep outward last breath as the Bride hears ‘please stand for the entrance’. And the Groom looking up and breathing out now knowing she’s on her way. It’s that ‘nervous-excited’ feeling, we all get at pinnacle points in our lives. And I don’t think you could choose a better time than a wedding to capture it. Some of my favourite shots of the day are just simply of that caring and wonderful raw emotion that Cara and Chris were really both feeling in the morning.

The impressive public speaking skills of the day were down to Best Man #1, Liam, Chris’ ten year old nephew. His speech was so well written, hilarious and confidently spoken. He’s got to be a sports commentator in ten years! He really looks up to his Uncle Chris, calling him his ‘hero’; a heart warming moment. Which was followed by Liam giving his compliments to Barkley the dog, highlighting how much he and his two year old sister Holly love him. And as Holly heard the brilliantly titled dog’s name, she shouted out in her little voice from her high chair… ‘Barkey-Barkey!’ It couldn’t have been a more perfect moment as we all cracked up at how exceptionally timed and cute she was.

Now, Chris is a huge Stereophonics fan, so Cara secretly hired a Stereophonics cover band in for him. They blew his mind. It’s quite rare to see a Groom simply hit the dance floor in complete joy and happiness! Brilliant to photograph, and the kids went wild for it.
