East Riddlesden Hall Wedding Venue | Hetty and Joel’s Wedding | Hamish Irvine Wedding Photographer
Last week I headed to East Riddlesden Hall for Hetty and Joel’s East Riddlesden Hall Wedding. It was a stunning day, including some incredible dancing and emotional portrait moments (like the one above!) Hetty looked amazing in her floral patterned and colourful dress, it was lovely to capture a Bride in a dress so creatively and colourfully designed and totally suited to their character. Hetty’s dress couldn’t have been more Hetty! Joel was dressed to impress in full tweed with his entourage of Peaky Blinders looking entourage of groomsmen. You’ll see the themed photo I grabbed below in the evening reception!
I started the day at the Busfield Arms in East Morton for the bridal preparations with Bow and Blush hair and make up before making a quick pit stop at East Riddlesden Hall to capture Joel arriving to do the last touch ups before the guests started to arrive. Lovely to see Lynne of super talented Huddersfield based wedding florist Stems Design building their beaut blossom tree at the top of the aisle ready for kick off!
The celebrations were held in the East Riddlesden Hall Barn, which I particularly like because of the great natural light coming through the huge glass doors. The exposed brickwork and the wonderful wooden roof add so much charm. Hetty walked down aisle to join her groom, and had the biggest reaction as he turned around to see her, has to be one of my favourite set of pics of the day. Just wait till you see her face!
We headed out of the barn through a confetti explosion for canapés as the kids discovered H+J’s extensive range of garden games as the adults found the extensive range of gin cocktails. A few clicks of the group shots later within ten minutes and then a quick round of portraits and we were back in the barn for tea.
The food was superb (as per usual Hog and Apple!) and speeches excellent, brought many laughs and a few happy tears. Joel’s mad into cricket and brought a bat and wickets to have a mini game pre evening reception. So we took the gear over to the East Riddlesden Hall gardens at the back of the venue and set up a match. Groom bowling against his bride with the party fielding was hilarious, Hetty wasn’t bad to say the least, look at those reactions! Soon it was time for the cutting of the pork pie cake before the surprise event of the night, a routined first dance to ‘Shut up and Dance With Me’, featuring a couple of daring lifts they executed perfectly. With a beastly looking hog roast served up, the dance floor cleared a little before packing out not long later to Jonny Ross’s band Colour Blue indie-ing up the wedding vibe as night faded in. It was a wonderful day enjoyed by all.
Thanks so much for having me you two, It’s been my absolute pleasure capturing all the incredible moments through your wedding. Hope you love the pics! x
