Katie & Simon sealed their 11 years together with a ring, engraved with their favourite Bombay Bicycle Club song, also featuring as their first dance. As a big Bombay fan myself and after seeing them at Glasto this year, it was heartwarming to have this empathetic banger be such a part of the day.
Katie & Simon live in Sheffield and wanted the industrial vibes of Kelham Island to carry through to their wedding day, Haarlem Mill couldn’t have been a better spot for them. I love mill weddings and it’s not often I get to shoot them, so it was extra special for me.

Between mains and desserts, I saw the sun going down over the hills. With the mill being in a deep valley, the sun wouldn’t hit us where we were. I took a quick drive and found a spot for the sun, I returned and whisked K+S into my (very sexy) VW polo and drive three minutes to a little romantic spot I found for the sunset. I played ‘nothing but you’ on my phone and they practiced their first dance in the final moments of the sunset.

It was a brilliant day, made extra special because of all their amazing guests. Everyone was so extra lovely at this wedding. Shoutout to the Best Man for pulling out a cracker of a speech ad-lib, and making me laugh quite a lot, which is a challenge with speeches! Legend.
