Emma & Kavi’s beautiful journey of a wedding through Leeds’s best venues

On Saturday, Emma & Kavi married in Leeds. The city they met in six years ago, the city they came to call home together, and now the city they celebrated their unforgettable wedding in.

I’ve been buzzing for Emma & Kavi’s wedding since we first met! They were really excited after seeing the weddings I’d photographed at Left Bank before, and the vibe for their day couldn’t be more what I love to capture most at a wedding. I think I’ve captured some of my favourite moments at their wedding of the year so far.

And I love shooting at Iberica. The bathroom there is a photographic dream… which is rarity to say about a bathroom. But it looks incredible, and there’s so much room for creativity. But it also reminds me of Harry Potter, with Moaning Myrtle’s bathroom scene. Me and my second shooter Paul were doing loud Myrtle impressions down there whilst scoping shots out, we thought we were along down there til the Best Man opened his toilet door, having heard there whole thing. We all burst out laughing.

There’s so much I could say about this wedding. Learning Kavi’s name in Sanskrit means ‘King of Poets’, which he completely lives up to ;), the relaxed traditional Hindu Milni ceremony at Left Bank, the recording of Emma’s Grandad’s voice during the blessing bringing everyone to tears, the captivating post-civic hall ceremony embraces, Kavi singing Teenage Dirtbag with the band, the wonderful array of incredible foods served through the day, the perfect golden hour light beaming through Left Bank’s art deco windows just in time after speeches finished…. So many.
