Nikki and Adam’s Wedding
I returned to East Riddlesden Hall for wedding number 2 of the weekend. This time for Nikki and Adam (you may have already seen these fabulous two on their pre wed here: http://hamishirvine.com/blog/yorkengagementshoot/).
They secretly got hitched in Tobago last year, and since then they’ve had the star of the show little Henley the baby arrive. It’s been a crazy past year and a half since I first met them!
So with Adam in the RAF he was sporting all the finery, including a watch made with bits of real WW1 plane parts and a Wilkinson Sword Sword…Not for stabbing, not for razoring, just for looking awesome.
And Nikki looked astonishing. As she walked down the stairs in her dress, Dad’s jaw dropped to the fall, the tears started running. It was an emotional start to an emotional day. We were off to East Riddlesden, Nikki walked through the guard of honour for what was a brilliant ceremony. American ordained minister and military friend of Adam led the most enthusiastic and chilled out yankee styled blessing. Great to experience and capture tradition so differently!
Out through the guard of honour as confetti rained down, before tucking into the Hog and Apple’s cocktails, canapés and capturing the congratulations. After some fun and swift group shots I think I took one of my favourite portrait sessions ever at this wedding. Nikki and Adam have so much fun with each other, they’re cheeky, chatty and so close to each other. There are some really beautiful shots of them in the blog here (If I do say so myself haha!).
With speeches underway, Adam delivered a confident and very bold speech. He is quite cocky isn’t he? Haha! But straight from the heart, it was one to remember. Then onto best man Simon who completely roasted the poor man. With a toast to the Queen, a quick change of outfit for the military lot, and a huge round of drinks down, the dance floor had already taken off even before the band had set up!
And the dance floor was mental. Nikki’s Dad impressively displayed some quite brilliant dance skills in a fierce dance off. The party just kept on going, it was difficult to leave. But I decided to get going as dancing skills got progressively more weird, but again fantastic to photograph.
Both of them with wee Henley between them are such fun to photograph. I really get along with these two as great friends, it was such a pleasure to capture their day. Keep in touch guys, hope you love the pics! x
