London Wedding Photographer | Bea and Dom’s Wedding | Garden Museum London Wedding Photographer and Old Marylebone Town Hall Wedding Photographer
Weddings in London are unique. Celebrating within the relentless pace of city life between the towering buildings contradicts the wedding tradition of escaping the public space into the countryside. As a photographer, I couldn’t love an inner city wedding more. There’s an electrifying excitement as you join the flow of the city, you’re sharing this iconic stage with so much life bustling in the background, the challenges of disruption and mess become fleeting opportunities to capture moments of magic. Forget shooting the tranquility of a country wedding, and embrace the opportunity of finding beauty in a background unlike anywhere else. Bea and Dom’s wedding was a one wedding like no other.
The Dorset Square Hotel was full of excitement as I joined the girls to get ready on Saturday morning. Bea was already looking amazing when I arrived, with her hair curled up in a Marilyn Monroe style sat against a vibrant bookcase making for such a beautiful scene.
Not before long I taxied over to the boys at a pub just five minutes away where a very calm and suavely dressed Dom and his groomsmen enjoyed a pre ceremony pint and fixed up their buttonholes. Soon it was time to get back over to Bea as she stepped into her beautifully simple and elegant dress, before making the five minute walk over to their epic ceremony venue, the Old Marylebone Town Hall (where Sir Paul McCartney got married himself not too long ago!).
Bea joined Dom down the aisle for the ceremony, and some lovely readings notably Usher, Pardhaad’s own poem written especially for the couple that had everyone captivated. With the I do’s I do’d and the seal of a kiss complete, our bride and groom made their exit out though a shower of confetti into the sunshine before grabbing the group shots then boarding two great big red buses over to the reception at The Garden Museum in Lambeth.
The sun shined on as Bea and Dom mingled their way through the drinks reception. Time flew by and all of a sudden it was speech time! It was lovely hearing the story of how B+D’s close friends Katie and Stu (who’s wedding I shot last year, click here to see it!) introduced the couple.
Food time! Caterers, Kalm Kitchen handed over the responsibility of serving and carving up their delicious roast legs of lamb to the guests. Each table had to nominate a guest to carve and serve up the main course of roast leg of lamb, sporting a special apron making for quite the photo opportunity as you’ll see! Soon the sun went down, and I took Bea and Dom out of the activity for some portraits with Westminster in the background as the sun turned gold. Perfect timing just before darkness descended and the party came alive and the dance moves erupted.
An epic day to say the least. And a privilege working with such talented suppliers, Becca Gray on make up, Sharon Roberts hairdressing, and Kalm Kitchen for roasting lamb to perfection. I hope you all love the photographs, it was a privilege to join you both, you’re amazing, thank you.
