Chevin Country Park Wedding Photography | Jess & Jake | Hamish Irvine Wedding Photographer
Chevin Country Park Wedding. How crazy; it’s the first wedding of 2019, and what a brilliant start it’s been with Jess & Jake’s Otley Chevin Country Park Hotel wedding!
I’m from Guiseley myself, so it was lovely to return to my old stomping ground up t’Chevin. I hadn’t however forgotten how cold and bitterly windy it gets up there. Saturday was very cold. I felt so guilty with doing the group shots outside, but we smashed through them in record time. I’m already fast with my groups, but this was on another level! My apologies go out to anyone reading who had to stay outside for 5 mins.
The welcoming warmth of the Chevin Lodge cabins was super cosy. It’s a really homely venue, particularly spruced up with Pudsey’s Ivy Florists‘ bouquets and Jess and Jake’s homemade decorations. You may spot the golden snitch table favours made from a Ferrero Rocher- clever! They made their own limoncello and flavoured gins too, alongside a sweets table packed with doughnuts. The real definition of a perfectly done, homemade wedding. It was great to see Luke’s brother, a chef at Bear’s Pantry, talented wedding caterers, make Jess & Jake’s wonderfully colourful cake too.
Relaxing in the warmth of the wedding, J+J’s guests had a great time. After the meal, everyone was just hanging out and catching up in the bar. It was a perfect scene to simply mingle around and capture the catch ups and conversations. The drinks kept flowing, and the dance floor called. In came Jonny Ross music, rolling in the party big guns with DJ Danny Barnett and sensational saxophonist Nick Baya. A perfect combo, together they turned the dance floor into a photographer’s dream.
Instead of the traditional format of the first dance, Jess & Jake invited everyone to dance together for the first tune. It really popped off! Definitely the best way to start the 2019 season for me, it felt like NYE all over again. I particular loved one guest nicknamed ‘Harry Potter’ who definitely must be crowned dancer of the wedding. You’ll see who I mean, he pops up quite a lot of the end of the blog. Truly a legend.
Anyway, here’s their story of their Chevin Country Park Wedding. I could chat a lot more, but the pics definitely do the job better. I hope you love the pics, and congratulations Jess and Jake! I hope you’re having the best time in the heat of Sri Lanka, you lucky buggers!
Love Hamish x
