I’m back home in Leeds after a brilliant weekend up in Dunbar, Scotland for Cheryl and Andy’s wedding at Broxmouth Park. I feel like I’ve been up there for a week so much has happened! My highlight has to be framing C+A catching up with each other in the evening sun on this deserted iddilic Dunbar beach. It was one of the loveliest moments I’ve photographed between a couple. Honest, genuine portraits of a couple just being themselves.

Morning! I joined the girls in their colourful kimonos already a couple of glasses down of prosecco, fair play! I loved how Cheryl had pretty much bought out the entire product range on etsy.com for personalised wedding things from slippers, glasses and hangers, making for some fun shots. Great to capture the locally based Eye Candy Pro Team and Mac & Millan hair working their talents on the girls brilliantly too.

I ran over to the other side of the estate and found the boys battling against their buttonholes. A quick 101 in flower pinning and we were underway. Over then to the games room for a quick snookering below a giant moose head before welcoming their guests into the house for the formalities.

Back to Cheryl as she slipped into her stunning dress just in time for Dad to walk down the aisle for their humanist ceremony led by Tim Maguire, definitely the most chilled out wedding chaplain I’ve had the pleasure of working with, he had everyone laughing away.

We were then out into the beaming sun for champagne. It couldn’t have tasted sweeter with thunderstorms forecast all day never showing up to the party. After some quick snaps of just the two together in the glorious soft light of the woods and a few with the family, they were into the beautifully decorated marquee (just look at those hanging flowers, they’re so so nice, thank you Feather Grass Florals!) for the speeches.

Speeches done, steaks served and cocktail hour commencing, I was carefully surveying the weather situation. The sun was setting, and some scary looking clouds gathering. It was touch and go for the beach. The moment we stepped on to the moment we stepped off it was perfect light. Then the rains began. It was pretty biblical if you ask me.

We got back to join everyone else already cosy inside ready for band Something Blue to rock the party with the hits and some tricky but hilarious ceilidh dancing. Nothing that tequila can’t aid however, as their guests queued up for the chilli and booze bar stocked up at the back!
